Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons bacon grease
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups cornmeal
- 1/2 cup flour
- Pinch of sugar, salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg

Directions
Sauté garlic and onion in 1 tablespoon of bacon grease.
Mix meal, flour, pepper, salt and sugar. Add milk to dry ingredients. Mix with egg. Add remaining bacon grease to garlic and onion mix. Stir well until thin. (If mixture is too thick, add more milk) Bake in greased pan at 450º for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
